The 3rd Edition of the LET’S DOC Festival! Registration for screenings and school workshops is now open
LET’S SEE EACH OTHER is the motto under which the third edition of the Youth Documentary Film Festival LET’S DOC will launch in two months. The event will run from March 22 to 29, 2025. Accompanying the festival is a school program created by a team of experts, designed for children and teenagers from primary and secondary schools. Starting January 20, teachers can reserve places for classes at school screenings in Kinoteka and workshops at Studio U20 in the Wajda Film Centre.
On the ► LET’S DOC Festival website, you can find the educational offer designed in collaboration with film education experts. The program, tailored to the needs of teachers and schools, includes carefully selected documentary films aligned with the core curriculum and lesson topics across various subjects, such as Polish, civics, geography, and ethics. It is complemented by discussions accompanying each screening, led by specialists connected to the films’ themes, as well as workshops combined with screenings of selected festival films, and a school audience vote for the best festival film.
The program of 15 school screenings and 8 workshops is designed with primary school students (grades 4–8) and high school students (grades 1–4) in mind. Short and feature-length documentaries from around the world are grouped into thematic blocks suited to different age groups, addressing topics such as relationships between humans and nature, ecology, immigration, following your own voice, perseverance in overcoming adversity, family and friendship dynamics, or challenges associated with adolescence.
The 90-minute workshops, which require a fee, are built around similar themes, engaging children and teenagers in reflection, discussion, and an exploration of themselves and the world around them.
LET’S SEE EACH OTHER at the 3rd Edition of the LET’S DOC Festival!
The LET’S DOC Festival, organized by the team at the Wajda Film Centre, is a unique event entirely dedicated to documentary films for young audiences aged 10 to 18. The motto of this year’s festival edition – SEE YOU – encourages not only meeting at the cinema but, above all, paying close attention to others and empathetically understanding diverse experiences and stories.
Conversations accompanying each screening, led by experts, will help viewers better understand the perspective of others – both the film’s protagonist on the screen and the person sitting beside them in the cinema seat.
From its inception, the Festival’s organizers have believed in the power of documentary cinema as a medium that evokes emotions, broadens horizons, and inspires dialogue about the most critical challenges of our time. At the LET’S DOC Festival, they present productions made with responsibility, sensitivity, and accuracy, which help young viewers engage with the stories being told, teaching them empathy and critical thinking.
The organizers of the LET’S DOC Festival are committed to creating the event in close collaboration with young people. Once again, they are seeking volunteers aged 14 and older to help organize the Festival.
Applications for volunteers are open until February 23, 2025. Submissions are accepted via ► application form.
