About
A central focus of our activity is the ongoing modernisation of Kino Tęcza in Żoliborz – a modernist building nearly one hundred years old, which we are restoring for Warsaw’s residents as a next-generation arthouse cinema. It will be a space for auteur and documentary cinema, thematic retrospectives and special events, where screenings are accompanied by discussion – with filmmakers, experts and audiences alike. The revitalisation of Kino Tęcza is both an investment in cultural infrastructure and a commitment to preserving Warsaw’s architectural heritage while giving it a contemporary cultural function.
Alongside this, we deliver our programme at Studio U20 on Aleje Ujazdowskie – a venue for film screenings, author talks, debates and interdisciplinary events. This is where a significant part of our ongoing programme activity takes place, allowing us to build a sustained relationship with Warsaw audiences.
Our programme encompasses contemporary and classic cinema, including documentary film, which is one of the key areas of our activity. We organise retrospectives, premieres, special events and thematic projects. We run professional and development initiatives such as the Documentary Idea Lab SKOK W DOK, supporting filmmakers developing projects for young audiences, as well as LET’S DOC – a festival introducing young viewers to documentary cinema. We also conduct educational workshops for students, teachers and parents.
We operate internationally, co-creating projects in partnership with cultural institutions across Europe and beyond. We work in international teams on projects funded by the European Commission, developing programme, research and educational cooperation. Together with Polish diplomatic missions and international partners, we organise events promoting Warsaw and Polish film culture on the international stage.
Our work contributes to the long-term development of Warsaw as a city of active cultural participation, supporting creativity, diversity and access to high-quality cultural offerings. We develop programmes that foster audience engagement, strengthen the competences of viewers and creators, and expand the city’s cultural and leisure opportunities.
