
Wajda Film Centre at IDFA 2025
Wajda Film Centre will be part of the key industry events at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam 2025 (IDFA), bringing together filmmakers, producers, and educators working in the field of documentary cinema. The Centre’s presence at the world’s leading documentary film festival is not only an opportunity to promote Polish projects but also a contribution to the international dialogue on film education and the development of documentary cinema for young audiences.

On Sunday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m., Guests Meet Guests, co-organized by Polish Docs PRO and Wajda Film Centre, will take place at De Kanarie Club. This renowned IDFA networking event gathers filmmakers, festival programmers, and industry representatives from around the world. During the meeting, Wajda Film Centre will present the LET’S DOC. Documentary Film Festival for Young Audiences and the educational platform FilmED – an international project developed with the support of Creative Europe and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, in partnership with organizations from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and North Macedonia.
On Monday, November 17, Polish Docs PRO Showcase will take place at De Balie Salon (Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 10), featuring selected Polish documentary projects. The presentation will run from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., followed by individual meetings with potential co-producers between 2:45 and 3:45 p.m. The lineup includes Goodbye Dolls by Magdalena Wichrowska, developed within SKOK w DOK. Documentary Ideas Lab, a development program run by Wajda Film Centre since 2020.
On Tuesday, November 18 at 10:00, the Centre will take part in the Industry Talk: Documentaries for Youth – Safe Spaces and Sharp Edges, focused on the future of youth documentary cinema. The session will conclude with a presentation of the international educational project FilmED, followed by a Think Tank (1:30–3:30 p.m.), where representatives of film institutions from Poland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands will discuss new possibilities for co-production and collaboration in the field of films for young audiences.
Wajda Film Centre is also a partner of Youth Doc Training – a pilot workshop program for directors and producers of documentaries for children and young audiences, organized by the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE) in collaboration with IDFA, DOXS RUHR, and the D4K-Alliance. The training will take place on 17–21 November 2025 in Amsterdam, bringing together filmmakers from Poland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The Polish delegation includes Magdalena Wichrowska, Agnieszka Kudelska, and Filip Jacobson (PL/DE). The program combines workshops, mentoring, and participation in selected IDFA industry events, strengthening international cooperation in the field of documentary cinema for young audiences.
