7th Documentary Film Forum for Young Audience

We invite you to take part in the 7th Documentary Film Forum for Young Audiences, which will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2025, at the National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, as part of the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival.

The Forum takes place during the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival and is the finale of the LET’S DOC. LAB development programme organised by the Wajda Film Centre.

PROGRAMME

10:30–10:50 – Opening of the Forum

10:50–11:50 – Masterclass: “Remote Intimacy: Building a Documentary Relationship at a Distance” Based on the film “A Fox Under a Pink Moon”, with co-directors Mehrdad Oskouei and Soraya Akhalaghi (in English)

How can a filmmaker create an intimate and authentic documentary without ever meeting the protagonist in person? In this conversation, director Mehrdad Oskouei and protagonist Soraya Akhalaghi reflect on their unique seven-year process of remote collaboration, which evolved into a deep relationship and a jointly created film. They will share the artistic and emotional challenges of working at a distance, the trust and patience that sustained their partnership, and how the digital era continues to reshape personal documentary filmmaking under conditions of separation and limitation.

The film “A Fox Under a Pink Moon” won Best Film in the International Competition at IDFA and is screened as part of the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity programme.
