LET’S DOC 2027: Festival dates confirmed, submissions now open for the 5th edition
LET’S DOC is set to return for its 5th edition, taking place in Warsaw from 12–20 March 2027. Organized by the Wajda Film Centre, the festival has launched its international call for entries, with submissions now open via FilmFreeway.
The 5th edition of the LET’S DOC Documentary Film Festival for Young Audiences is on the horizon. It has now been confirmed that LET’S DOC 2027 will take place in Warsaw from 12–20 March 2027.
Wajda Film Centre, which has organized the country’s largest event dedicated to documentary cinema for young audiences since 2023, has officially opened the call for entries for next year’s edition. Filmmakers are invited to submit their films via FilmFreeway by 11 October 2026.

LET’S DOC is a festival entirely dedicated to documentary films for audiences aged 10–18, as well as anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the younger generation’s perspective. The programme focuses on issues that matter here and now — identity, relationships, social and global challenges, and the need for dialogue and action.
The festival’s organizers emphasize that documentary cinema is far more than an educational tool or a classroom obligation. Instead, it is vibrant, engaging filmmaking, rich in emotion, authentic stories, and compelling portraits of young people from around the world.
Active youth participation lies at the heart of LET’S DOC. Young audiences are not merely spectators but active contributors, helping to shape the festival programme, organize screenings and accompanying events, and take part in the festival’s decision-making process.
Their involvement extends to the awards section, where a youth jury presents the Lynx Award, the festival’s main prize. In selecting the winning film, jurors consider not only artistic excellence but also the film’s relevance to young audiences and its ability to engage with issues that matter to their generation.
Festival juries also include members of the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA). The ECFA Award brings the winning film to the attention of professionals across the European documentary film industry and increases its visibility among those working with young audiences.
Each screening is accompanied by discussions, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, and meetings with experts. Through these encounters, LET’S DOC provides a welcoming space for young audiences to reflect, exchange perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue inspired by documentary cinema.
